The EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE (EVS)

Within the framework of the EVS everybody in the age of 17 to 30 years can render a service in a foreign country. Doing so provides the possibility of getting to know place and people, gathering impressions and improving language skills. The field of application is almost unlimited. Theatre projects in Poland, disabled care in the Netherlands, local youth work in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and much more – personal interests and skills are essential for choosing the location and place of assignment.

Travel costs, costs of room and board, insurance: almost all of the expenses are incured by the “Youth in Action” programme; even a spending money depending on the location of assignment will be paid.

There is much to gain. The EVS is a learning service and promotes proactivity, organisation skills and social aptitudes sustainably. Qualifications, which will also be helpful for a future carreer.

Since spring 2009 CGE Erfurt e.V. officially is sending as well as host organisation within the “Youth in Action” programme of the European Commission.
