2010/2011/2012 “SPread” – Magazine and Website

Themed “Make smooth changes through radical actions” the ThüJak (THÜRINGER JUGENDARBEITSKREIS – an open initiative of CGE Erfurt e.V.) runs the project “SPread” (previously called “Eurozine”).

What is “SPread”?

“From a selection of the best issues published on FREE magazines and blogs till user generated reportages from the deepest features of the European society, the ones close to the citizens but far from the traditional media. Art contest and free space for new languages. All European cultures, starting from six partner countries: Portugal, France, Latvia, Romania, Italy and Germany. The project has begun in December 2010.

SPread is: // platform for artists // young journalism // User Generated Contents // international REview // modernCulture box // FREE

The aim of the project “SPread” is to provide an online platform for young journalism and art production on an European level, followed by the publishing of a free magazine.

Started in December 2010 with shaping up the idea with 6 international partners (Portugal, France, Latvia, Romania, Italy and Germany), it has just arrived to the second step, the opening of the website under www.sp-read.com and the publication of the first issues.

The platform is divided into 4 main sections:

Young journalism“
The shape of the society seen through the eyes of its future”

Reportage
“Postcards from far away. Closer than expected”

Free Magazine review
“A fine selection of free press”

Associationism and networking
“News from European organisations and youth initiatives”

Constantly updated, the platform will provide everyone the possibility to participate by submitting articles, ideas, media contents and partnership offers, following the concept of a communication that’s the middle way between UGC (User Generated Content) and high quality selected material that shows the European dimension through all its features, using art & culture as tools to reach this goal.

So if you like it, just SPread it!

With the cooperation of THÜJAK (Thüringer Jugendarbeitskreis), CULTURE GOES EUROPE (CGE) – Soziokulturelle Initiative Erfurt e.V. and five partner countries (Italy, Romania, Portugal, Latvia and France) we’re looking for young journalists, reporters, free minds and art’s vibe addicted – FROM ALL OVER EUROPE!!!

In the frame of the project implementation we are looking for young people interested to contribute as young journalists with their stories, pictures, documentaries, reportages, etc…

If you think you can fit in this profile and you are interested in cooperation please send an e-mail to eddypress@gmail.com and in copy to office@cge-erfurt.org.
