Buntgemischt” (“Variegated”) – physical theatre workshop

18 x 1000 great ideas for Erfurt – we have been part of it!

In spring and summer 2009 CULTURE GOES EUROPE (CGE) – Soziokulturelle Initiative Erfurt e.V. in cooperation with the primary school of the Public supra-regional Support Centre for the hearing impaired Erfurt organised a four month lasting physical theatre workshop for 40 hearing impaired pupils of the primary school of the PsSC, at whose end two presentations have been performed.

The workshop has been guided by an educated pedagogue for dance and physical theatre, supported by a choreographer and school’s experts in special needs education, and took place once a week in small mixed-age and across-the-board groups during the teaching time in the school’s rooms. By playful exercises of the domain of physical theatre, which should advance the lust and joy for motor activity and physical expression, not even the progression of the children’s self-esteem, but at the same time the enhancement of their social and creative skills was aimed. Based on the “Lied vom Anderssein” (“Song of Otherness”) by Klaus W. Hoffmann several sequences have been worked out, which – imbedded in a common choreography – have been presented later in public.

On September 11th, 2009 the public final performance on „Buntgemischt“ (“Variegated”) took place.
It started at 6:00 p.m. in the Theatre of Erfurt, studio stage!

The project has been promoted within the programme “18×1000” of the Stadtwerke Erfurt Gruppe.
